St Albans is a very friendly town with people opening doors and being kind and considerate.
We ate in whetherspoons in their Tudor barns and they also had an outdoor area to eat and drink if no rain! The pricing of everything we ate and drank was of good value and was very clean.
There was lots of places we wanted to visit but most of our holiday it rained! But we did visit the shops which are all different and have different price ranges and styles.

I was there for work so didn't really have a chance to look around the place. I managed a visit to the cathedral which is a marvellous hulk of a mediaeval building and still an active place of worship. Wel worth a visit.

A classic english town with traditional houses, historical places and a small but well-cared city centre. St.Albans has a wonderful gothic cathedral, the calm and nature of the wide city park and the oldest pub in the UK is there. Services and shops make the city a nice place to live and to visit.
Reception staff on our arrival was exceptional, and responded quickly and positively to questions re our room.
Bar area nice for a drink on-site.
Bedding/quilts lovely and clean and felt new!
Lovely decor through out hotel.
Great location and parking, even the overspill car park was a quick side access walk away.
Cab ordered for train station which is more than a walk away and no trouble and call you in your room when it was outside.
Beautiful property, clean, well presented and welcoming. Located in the lovely town of Saint Albans which is only a few miles down the road from the Harry Potter Studios Tour. Perfect place for anyone who is visiting London/surround area. Viv was an amazing host, and we hope to stay there again when my wife and I visit the HP Studios in the future.
Old fashioned hotel with the advantage that they did not rush you out in the morning and parking was easy with the added value they allowed a visitor to park. Staff were friendly and helpful.
The friendliness and professionalism of the staff, and the quality of the food. The location of the hotel was really good, close to the city centre and walking distance of attractions.
The room was lovely, decoration inkeeping with the hotel style. Bed very comfortable.
Easy access to outside without having to walk through main hotel area.
The room was comfortable, check-in and out easy, and the building is charming. The hotel is well located and had everything we needed, including parking.
