We loved the room decor in the Azure Room, the colours, the openness and airiness. We loved the picnic basket that was brought to our room at the requested time each morning with all the yummy breakfast items that we chose the day before. We loved sitting on our balcony, listening to the birds’ sing as we ate. We loved the view of the castle. We loved the friendly staff. We loved the two Greek Taverns serving traditional food that were within walking distance. I actually teared up when it was time to go - I wish we could have stayed longer.

I could happily stay longer in the superb hotel, but mainly there is one sight to see in Mystras - the site of the old Byzantine city.
We spent longer there than anticipated; and if we had more time and energy we could have spent the entire day.
Drive to the top; see the citadel and the churches at the top. Drive to the bottom to see the rest of the site.
There is good information at the site, but prepare by reading up ahead and ideally have a good guidebook to make clear what to see at the site.

The Mystras Archeological Site is an extraordinary collection of Byzantine churches and ruins, built into and atop a steep mountain. Allow at least two hours and be prepared for lots of walking on slippery, uneven, steep surfaces. Worth it!
Tip: easy to park in Mystras main square, with multiple tavernas to choose from for lunch or dinner.

It's a small town or you can even call it a village.
It's a small town or you can even call it a village. Coffee drinks and food can be found in the center square of that village. Ideal location to visit the famous Castle city of Mystras and after that, regroup and continue your journey. If i may suggest, the route from there to Kalamata through Taygetos mountain (EO82) is amazing...

I am very sorry for the CONFUSION in my review particualrly of this place. UNFORTUNATELY we could only spend ONE night at this magical and extraordinary PYRGOS OF MYSTRA. It was one of the most memorable places I have stayed in. Our host MARIA excels in her efficiency and kindness. The whole place has an aura of serenity and peace. It is no doubt due to the staff but also the surroundings: a profusion of orange and lemon trees, paerfumed roses and a beautifully landscaped garden. The room is not only beautiful but extremely well equipped and it was the best shower during my trip to Greece! We really received the royal treatment and in the magnificent dining room we were served a most delicious breakfast. I was so very sorry to leave the place the next morning and I woud recommend, without any hesitation, this particular hotel and make sure that you can spend MORE than only one night there. Our fondest appreciation to Maria.

Lovely quaint village within walking distance of the ancient archaeological sites, which are stunning.
It’s all very hilly to take a taxi to the top gate of the site if you’re feeling lazy - then it’s just up to the castle and then it’s all downhill back through the site and down into town

An amazing ruined city - great for anyone interested in history. We started at the top, walking up to the fortress then down through the city . We did not move our car as some tourist books recommend. The restaurant is outside the site but tickets are valid all day so no problem returning to walk back up - recommend this as you see things from a different perspective going in the opposite direction. There are sufficient information boards. Be aware there is only one toilet on site. Good shoes are a must - these are ruins! Highly recommend.
This is one of those places where, as you are pulling up, you are so excited and relieved that this is the place you are staying. It is the most beautiful place we saw in the area with a lovely outdoor sitting area where they greet you with a lemonade as you rest and check in. It is nestled off the road on the side of the mountain with gorgeous views of the valley. We rode E-bikes to a river with waterfalls, pools and a rope swing. This was completely unexpected and a highlight of our extensive trip to Greece.
Very nice, newly built hotel with beautifully manicured gardens. The whole setting is very nice, with the mountain tops of Mystras in the back and a great view to the castle.
It’s a short drive to Mystras in a very quiet place.
Rooms are spacious and the whole place is well decorated, if in a very traditional/classic way.
Breakfast has to be pre-ordered, so you don’t know exactly how much food you’re getting and generally it’s very good and tasty, especially the fruit juices, and the Greek yogurt with fruits.
Our favorite hotel in Greece! From the moment we drove up we were treated like honored guests. The rooms and views were unbelievable and the breakfast was exceptional. A fabulous massage at the spa and an afternoon reservation on the clay tennis courts were just icing on the cake. Our young teen sons loved all the outdoor spaces. I enjoyed the view of the olive grove from my balcony and watching the sheep graze beneath the trees. Idyllic!
The hotel is beautifully situated right in the centre of Mystras. We first visited just after it opened several years ago and it was lovely this time to see how the trees and shrubs have grown up, making the hotel blend beautifully with the landscape. The bedrooms were very comfortable with great beds and a fabulous shower. The spa was very welcoming and the breakfast ample and tasty.
Everything was perfect. A clean, new and well-equipped room with a private bathroom.
The owners are very welcoming and offer great help and advice. The location is also very suitable for whoever wants to visit the archeological site and is right next to the bus stop. So far this has been the best place I have stayed at in Greece.
little apartments in seperate houses with a swimming pool in the center. we got upgraded to a junior suite so we had a lot of space. breakfast was a buffet with a wide selection of warm and cold foods, some typical greek items. beds were comfortable, a/c was working. parking across the hotel along a quiet street.
What a gem! Beautiful boutique hotel with views over Mystras. Our room had a separate bedroom from the kitchen/living area and two bathrooms! Beautiful decor, it truly felt like a home from home. Breakfast served in the room was a feast, and the staff gave us an incredibly friendly welcome! Thank you so much!
The location is great with several restaurants nearby.
Big room, spacious and well clean. Bathroom good, spacious, shower good. Bed very comfortable.
Private parking.
Loved the host Helena, extremely sympathetic and pleasant.
Highly recommended. Ideal for visiting Mystras and Sparti.
This beautifully converted estate has all the hallmarks of a boutique hotel (though charges accordingly). Our spacious room had stunning views in no less than three directions, the location being exceptional and a perfect base for exploring the delights of the ancient city of Mystras.
A very nice place to stay if you're planning on visiting the ruins at Mystras (which you definitely should). The room was very nicely appointed with a very large and comfortable bed. The bathroom and shower were also very nice with a luxurious boutique feel.
We absolutely loved every moment in this hotel. The hosts are great entertainers as well as cooks. Our stay here was the highlight of our vacation in Greece. This place is just amazing.
We will definitely go back. I highly recommend this place to everyone.
The hotel is located in the centre of a small town named Mystras, which is at the foot of the mountain where a Byzantine ruined city locates. The hotel is clean. The breakfast offered by the restaurant of the Mystras Inn is good.
The breakfast was one of the best we had in Greece. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The inn itself is very charming while the area itself was amazing with the Mystras and Sparta sites so close by.
Really nice stone villa, great and quite location, very close to Mystras archeological site and other villages with beautiful hiking trails around the mountains! Highly recommend it!
Charming hotel in a small village with a fabulous restaurant on site. Amazing hiking and historical sites nearby. We felt very lucky to have found this little charm.
Everything!
Patty and Maria are so nice and informative.
The hotel is kind of a well renovated manor.
Internal garden, lovely rooms, very clean and very high level.
