The room was very nice, bed was big and comfortable. Very clean and a glass bottle of water was waiting on arrival which was nice. The staff were very nice and helpful. Shampoo, conditioner and shower gel were all provided in the bathroom. The leisure centre was great too

We loved the Church of St.
We loved the Church of St. Peter and Paul - they feature vivid and colourful stained glass windows made by Harry Clarke. We were in there for way longer than we anticipated, the art was so detailed and interesting. We found handy parking round the back of the castle, but it was February and was quiet so no problems there.

We ate at The Fatted Cow, which served excellant food in a professional and friendly atmosphere.The town itself was easy to get around with good transport links to other towns and cities. The location was similar to where I had stayed in the last time that I had been in Athlone, and is very central to the town. While my standards for walkability are wildly different than most people's (I wouldn't decline a walking trip to Roscommon, for example), I felt like the town as a whole had a very accessible vibe and the location of this hotel was very conducive to that ideal.

The room was clean and fairly quiet. The showers were good with plenty of hot water and a huge bathroom with separate tub. Tons of breakfast options (this costs extra and unfortunately all the gluten free options were out by the time we got down to eat). Amazing location just a short walk from Sean's Bar which is an Athlone must see!
