It was a pleasure being at this great location on the beach of the Pacific. The pension is like a quiet resort, with a private beach on a small bay, which is also a favourite spot for the golden eagle. The optional dinner (order 1 day in advance) was excellent. For us it was a fine stop between the mountains of Shikoku and the Nara peninsula.
We had a spacious cabin with a bathroom. An additional Japanese bathroom can be used as well.

Everything was great! The host, the house, the location.
The house is extremely cozy and clean. Everything you need is available: small kitchen, couch, nice place to sit outside! The beds are comfy and when you’re lucky you can see the stars from there.
It’s a ten minute walk to the beach where you can surf or chill. Also restaurants and a 7/11 are there.
The area is great for hiking and cycling (bikes were there).
Shishikui is a bit remote and quiet, but perfect for a stressless getaway if you’ve been visiting Japanse cities. From Osaka is a direct bus to Shishikui station, so it’s easy to get there. The bus ride alone is worth taking.
Ryota was an excellent host, and the surf lessons were awesome!

The location is fantastic (if you are arriving by car). We had a view of the beach from our room and the beach is steps away. The property is super funky with California/Hawaii surfer vibes. The hosts are lovely and were always cleaning. There is a separate building on the grounds that has a small fridge, microwave and kettle and a table to eat at. The bathroom and shower room were very clean and the shower stalls were really big, each with a separate area to get changed. There was lots of parking.
