Small city with lots of trees that give everybody around allergies.
It's very surreal to have mountains all around the city - kinda like a skybox in an old game. The sights are wonderful, especially in the evening. I wish I had my drone there to fly over - it would be so much better than what I had, but drone laws are cruel there (airport security doesn't do very good job of checking if you stay in the back though).
There's not too much to do in the city itself but it's a nice location to have 1.5-3h bus rides to other cities - we especially enjoyed going to Kotor mountains, and going to a nudist beach at Bojana island was also an interesting experience.
There are some places with nice food - just look for the highest rated restaurants in the area. I particularly liked the steak at the "Steak House - Grill, Fish & Meat" place. Food delivery is average. Taxis don't take card payments most of the time, and calling for a taxi without knowing the language is a pain. Tesla app is kinda ok in that regard, but it's only working in Podgoritsa.
People don't know how to drive and how to park there so pedestrian roads are blocked with cars, and traffic lights are challenging if you can't walk fast.

Very pleasant town, with green space and parks, safe and relaxing for long walks, especially by the river, and no problems at all with motorbikes (as in Tirana) and stray dogs (as in Durres). Guidebooks that underrate Podgorica are wrong!

The city is not very beautiful, but tourist-friendly.
The city is not very beautiful, but tourist-friendly. It is a good base for trips to other towns. You can get there very conveniently by bus or train. I recommend! There are a lot of green places and lovely corners by the river. The catering facilities are sufficient.

Podgorica is a very beautiful city.
Podgorica
Podgorica is a very beautiful city. It is very clean and organized with regular houses, shops and markets, although it is a small place. People are calm and very friendly.
It was quite a beautiful and special evening with bars on both sides of the main boulevard where people spent time with their loved ones.
I can mention the Munchen bar where we had a delicious dinner.
Another favorite bar in the city center with live music was Hard Rock Cafe.

It is not a big city, transportation is easy, traffic is heavy between 15.00 and 18.00.
The airport, markets and shopping areas are very close to each other.
Maximum 2 hours away from all resorts (Tivat, Budva, Kotor, Bar, Ulcinj).

Podgorica is a capital of Montenegro, it is a center of all...
Podgorica is a capital of Montenegro, it is a center of all the historic spots and natural beauties. From Podgorica you can get up in the mountains or down to a beautiful coastline in a matter of less than an hour. Young people cafes, kind and welcoming people. A lot to see and feel.
The hotel is a short distance from the airport. I have stayed there for work for almost a month. I stayed in a standard suite with a separate living and sleeping area. The room was nicely decorated and very clean. The staff, from room service till management, were all very friendly and helpful. The city of Podgorica isn't really great, but this hotel was one of the better hotels I've ever stayed in. Would almost forget, but the hotel has a fantastic fitness and sauna. And no I have not been paid for this review. 😉
Upon arrival we were greeted by the wonderfully warm and friendly hosts. It was wonderful to experience local hospitality. The location is in the heart of Podgorica suburbia with a semi-rural setting, and a very short and pleasant drive to the airport through quiet back roads (which was our main reason for booking the stay). The accommodation was very neat and tidy, and had air-con which is very much needed in June.
The location was close from Podgorica airport & easy to find from the main road. As we arrived quite late, very kind hotel owner was waiting for us outside of the accommodation for making sure. Very sweet & caring. And the accommodation was great, spacious, enough facility. We didn't use but there was a pool too which we saw other family were enjoying. When we go back to Podgorica, we definitely stay here again.
We decided to celebrate our anniversary is this hotel during our visit to Montenegro.. they gave us the biggest room we have ever stayed at.. amazing room very well maintened.. they surprised us by great welcoming to wine, sweets & fruits at the room.
Mr. Albert Dolevic was very helpfull and all reception area team.
It will be our hotel everytime in Podgorica :)
If you need to stay in Podgorica, this is the place to be. Beautiful hotel with big indoor swimming pool and spa and a rooftop terrace. Big breakfast and we had the chance to talk to the Guest relation manager Milena who was a great help on the planning of our vacation. The taxi within the city is very cheap. 15 euro via booking.com for the taxi from the airport.
Athos is a great place to stay in central Podgorica. The apartment is lovely, super clean and better in so many ways than a hotel room. It is the warm hospitality that shines through from the first contact through check in and check that exceeds all expectations. Athos helped me feel welcome to Montenegro. I look forward to an opportunity to return soon.
What a brilliant apartment in the centre of Podgorica. A real bonus that Marco picked us up from the airport for a reasonable price, seeing we were delayed and didn't get in until 22:45! His English was excellent, and he gave us lots of ideas about what to do, and where to eat. We had a great time in the neighbourhood bars - really rocking area!
They helped us order a reasonably priced taxi from Podgorica Airport before we landed, which made it convenient to get to the hotel.
When we arrived, they had issues with our room so they sent us to a nearby 5 star hotel (Hotel Ziya) and they helped us pay the difference in price. They paid for our taxi between the hotels too.
Mr.Zoran and his wife are the owner of this hotel. They are super super nice host. The place is very clean and I highly recommend this hotel because Mr Zoran and his wife gave the best hospitality services and warm reception making me to stay here again when I visit Podgorica. Thank you Mr. Zoran. Regards from Taha Ubdula
The hotel was new and the staff were excellent. The room was really great and the bed very comfortable. It was modern. Even though the hotel was not in the centre of town everything is usually only a few minutes away in Podgorica. The hotel also has a restaurant serving great food. Overall it was great value for money.
A good hotel situated near the bus terminal and not so far away from the airport. A walking distance from city centre and attractions in Podgorica - 10-15minutes. Spacious parking in front of the hotel. Very friendly staff, English speaking. Breakfast as a buffet - continental. Clean and well maintained.
Excellent location, very close to the Podgorica airport. There is a very nice green garden and a cafe that offers tea and coffee free of charge to the clients. The room had all we needed, beds were comfortable and overall it was an excellent value for money.
The hotel is located in the gas station, the room and the corridor can smell very heavy gasoline, about 10 minutes drive from the center of Podgorica, there is a supermarket Voli nearby. About a few minutes' walk
only stayed one night, but the hotel was perfect, short distance from the airport and in the middle of Podgorica. The staff were very friendly, the room was really nice and the bar restaurant was great.
The hotel is well located in close proximity to the city and bus/ train stations. Super friendly and helpful staff who amiably facilitated all our stay. Shuttle to and from the airport available 24/7.
Hotel architecture was magnificent. Room was large and comfortable, with the Moraca river view. The view was fantastic! Close to the city center so we could walk to the city for a drink and dinner.
Great host!! He gave lots of good suggestions for places to visit in Podgorica and the rest of Montenegro. Hotel itself and location were very good as well!
