The location was excellent, just off the Plaza Baratillo which is very near the main plazas. The staff was very friendly. Although promised a balcony, instead I had an open, non-private, terrace with a nice view just outside my door. This more than compensated. (I was in Room 304). The wifi was for the most part ok, better than I expected after reading the reviews. It went out at times, but I think that is normal in Guanajuato.

We loved Guanajuato and would go back sometime.
We loved Guanajuato and would go back sometime. We were only there two nights as a quick stop on our drive home to the US. It's an amazing city with the mining history and tunnels carved in the mountain. The architecture in the historic center is gorgeous, many buildings are from the 1700 and 1800s. We loved climbing the hill to the statue for the view as well as just wandering and exploring. There are all kinds of restaurants and street food, music in the streets every night and lots of shops of souvenirs. We recommend spending several days here.

Small, wonderful, kaleidoscopic, walkable, and friendly city to visit and explore. Great range of activities available: art and architecture, museums and music venues and food options (from street food on up) and hiking in the surrounding hills. Speaking Spanish helps, even if at a rudimentary level like mine. Guanajuato is an easy to just be. And if you forget the sunscreen ... farmacias to the rescue! Enjoy your visit.

They call it a magic town. I see why.
I've been here for 5 days so far & the more time I spend here the more I love it.

It is a beautiful city with lots to explore. It is more historic and lots of walking but we enjoyed. My kids enjoyed it even with it not being a lot of attractions geared towards children. Lots of street vendors and delicious foods.

The people were very friendly.
The people were very friendly. A lot of walking goes on with very little other transportation. There are definitely a huge number of people walking the street that usually come up from the tunnels. The tunnels being the major source of entrance into the city. The parks are usually full of people walking around and in the evenings they have lots of songs and and other activities.
Good value hotel with great rooftop view of the city. Awesome view of fireworks for NYE. Staff were friendly and did a good job. Breakfast was poor and if it wasn't included in our room package I would skip it - buffet style scrambled eggs were overcooked (5/10), small bowl of fruit, flavoured water, weak / probably instant coffee. Hot tub was luke warm, showers were cold and barely any pressure. Nevertheless still a decent value hotel if you want a cheap place to stay but you definitely get what you pay for.
Omar is the kindest host in a B&B I've ever met. He was super accommodating when we extended our stay. When we felt under the weather, he got a friend to bring over a digital thermometer. (No fever, thank goodness.) Every morning started with a different breakfast on the roof top: with no repeats. The view from the room and the rooftop is spectacular. If you're visiting Guanajuato City, do yourself a favour and stay here.
It was unique! Such an interesting building. We loved the rooftop terrace and would meet our friends there for a happy hour everyday. The location is great but tricky to find with a car. The hotel provided paid valet parking for our car. They also arranged a walking tour of Guanajuato and also a tour to San Miguel de Allende and surrounding cities. Guanajuato is a very special place!
Spacial and clean room. Breakfast included and is good. The hotel is on the top of the hill just at the foot of Monumento Al Pipila (it's not along the road, a few steps down from the monument). It has perfect view of the entire Guanajuato historical town centre. Hotel guests can take funicular for free unlimited times to go down hill to the town centre and back up.
Ever wake up in a hotel room and not know where the heck you are? The character of Sanbernabe tres makes it clear every second you're in your room that you are in Guanajuato, Mexico. The room's design, the dramatic bathroom lighting, and the sounds and smells coming in through the windows not only alert you, but make you want to lie back and take it all in.
Amazing hosts! Anything we needed they were eager to help. Great dog and tasty breakfasts that were different everyday. Room was very spacious and comfortable. We were treated more like family members than guests. Also it was interesting to meet other guests from Mexico and around the world. Would definitely recommend to everyone.
Great location -- near everything yet very quiet, safe and had great views of the city from the lovely patio. The house was full of art and history making it seem so much more special than a hotel room. The kitchen was gorgeous and very well fitted out. And the beds were very comfortable. Felt like staying at home, only better.
The location is really at central and easy for movement. The room was excellent because it have good view. Bed are really comfortable. Room is spacious for junior suite which i like it. overall it really good experience to stay at Guanajuato in this hotel.
The 1850 is located on the main square where all of the life of the city is happening! It is central to everything that a visitor might want to see. The hotel itself is modern, well furnished and comfortable. The staff is cheerful and very accommodating.
My family and I have always wanted to stay in Gto. And this hotel meat all of our expectations. What we loved most, was the fact that it’s in the Centro. Which meant that we were at walking distance from many of the amazing places to visit in Gto.
Perfect location right in the center, within easy walking distance of everything I wanted to see. Generous room with a little balcony. Good Wi-Fi. Great bed (wish all hotels in Mexico had this kind of bed).
The host was lovely, great communication ahead and during the stay. The bed is easily the most comfy we had in our month in Mexico and the room is super cute. We were able to leave bags on check out day.
The hotel was at the edge of the busy Guanajuato center. Easy to walk to the main tourist attractions and far enough to be in a less noisy street. People were nice and breakfast choices were plenty.
Accommodation is close to city center. Small but super comfortable room, they even set up a little tea place with kettle, glasses, mugs, few packets of tea and coffee (which is rare in Mexico).
good view from balcony. good location although there are some stairs to climb to get to the hotel. there isn’t an AC in the room but it was okay for late March Guanajuato weather.
