My husband and I are very well traveled (58 countries) and have stayed at 9 different Selinas now. We've stayed at everything from overwater bungalows in the Maldives, Ritz Carlton in Abu Dhabi, and now, 9 different Selinas in Central and South America. We always stay in a private room at Selina hotels and booked the suite this stay. Super spacious and clean. There are TONS of bathrooms too so we felt like we could have also booked the micro rooms with shared bathroom, but we got a good deal on the suite during black friday sales.
We will always keep coming back to Selina chains because we love the vibes. They're always well decorated, offer amazing well-priced tours, have super friendly staff, and just attract the right crowd of like minded travelers. Breakfast was free for us due to being Booking Genius/Level 3 members and it was fantastic. On site bar/restaurant too to get snacks and drinks if you wanted a munchie late at night. It's right across from a locals market where they sell the cutest hand made pottery and trinkets for a very low price. Tons of restaurants to walk to as well.

We loved our stay at Adela. When we checked in, a gentleman assisted and he spoke english. From then on it was only the female staff present and they didn't speak english. But it was easy to communicate with the various means and the ladies were just lovely. Breakfast was brilliant, and very relaxing sitting in their beautiful garden. The room was big and comfy. Lighting could have been a little brighter in the room. Pool is a perfect size but needed a little cleaning. Location perfect, very close to Garden Cafe which is the best lunch spot.

I have never seen so many rude, contemptuous residents in most of the center city. They make Parisians look like a welcoming committee. They make a habit of fleecing tourists, both our hostel front desk and a food kiosk blatantly charged us more than they were supposed to and we witnessed atrocious behavior toward other tourists. Maybe 5% of the people we interacted with were friendly.
Service was comically bad in the restaurants we visited. They have plenty of tourists, but haven't learned much in the way of hospitality yet. Grocery stores are expensive with poor selections.
Arriving into Managua was not at all bad. And we are finding San Juan del Sur a joy, although this too is fairly pricey bc of all the American and Canadian tourists. Restaurant food was much higher quality and better value, service was great and everyone has been so very friendly.
So, really, all of our bad experiences were in Granada. I have no intention of returning and don't plan to recommend it to anyone. I hope to have a chance to see more of Managua before I leave.

Granada is a bustling city with nice people.
Granada is a bustling city with nice people. We like the fact that we were close to stores, markers, banks, parks etc..
What we did not like, is that there are no street signs, and since we were driving, we got lost a few times. Also, the beach was picturesque but unfortunately it was littered with garbage everywhere. It was very disappointing.

The churches and the restaurants.
The churches and the restaurants. There was a variety of restaurants and very reasonable prices. It was easy and inexpensive to get a cab home after dinner if we did not want to walk back to the hotel.
The friendliness and hospitality of the people was amazing.

It is an old city with a lot of old historic buildings. The infrastructure definitely needs upgrading. I have heard many good things about the beach area but I did not go to the beach. There are some sketchy areas at night time. So we did not leave on foot at night. if anyone had a reason to go to Granada I would definitely recommend the Hotel Jardin De Granada.

Its a great base to explore different venues for day trips and nice to walk around.
It was perfectly safe and outside of a few young children soliciting for $$$ it was a good experience.
Locals were absolutely helpful and the food was good. Excellent selection of dining venues.

Great town, unique colonial history and architecture.
Great town, unique colonial history and architecture. Granada is on the huge lake and many interesting volcanic islands that you can visit. A great city for biking, black market and "ramba" walking/dining area behind the beautiful Cathedral. Warning: city square park is beautiful but very crowded esp w aggressive and nasty taxi drivers. Many language schools and American backpackers. Realtively cheap restaurants.
I enjoyed staying in the Jardín Garden very much. Not only, that the rooms were clean and everything is new and comfortable - the host Michael is from Switzerland. He and his wife are super nice and the helped me with everything, suggested tours in Granada and told me about the life in Nicaragua. The hotel is very safe and it is only a close walk to the city center. It is very silent, with beautiful flowers in the garden and a nice pool area. I would definitely recommend this hotel if staying in Granada....
This Hotel is a oasis in the center of Granada. The beautiful old patio's represent the traditional style of a Nicaraguan home and the cultural background of it's people. The breakfast was excellent, staff were great and the gardens kept meticulously. The location is excellent for exploring the city, at just the right walking distance to be out of the noisy main street. The pool is a bit small, but perfect for a splash after a hot day. There's also excellent wifi in all the rooms.
This a great place to stay in Granada! Walking distance to city center but far enough away to get away from the noise. The hotel is impeccable clean and the rooms are very nice. The pool is the best, especially during the midday when it gets so hot. Breakfast options are very good and delicious. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful!!! Big plus is they have hot water for the showers. Very hard to find in a hotel for this price.
This hotel in Granada is a hidden gem. It is a little bit off center but still within walking distance. They offer paid parking but we parked right in front on the street, no problem. Staff is very attentive, great service. 3 choices for breakfast, all very tasty and more than enough, coffee all day - what more do you need. The rooms are all quite spacious with a nice bathroom.
One of the best values in Granada. Clean, everything works, professional staff, and good breakfast. I have stayed in every hotel on this street and several others in Granada. You will have to pay about 50% more to get something with a bigger room and fancier furniture and bathroom. Ask for a first level room if noise from nearby bars will bother you.
Beautiful colonial building, shabby chic:) breakfast was yum, homemade pancakes and fruit! The room isn't too big, but decent for a couple of nights. In the very center of Granada, walking distance to everywhere. The owner is a great Irish guy, always available for a chat. Overall, I think it's an excellent place to stay in Granada.
Excellent hotel in the centre of Granada. Owner Gerry was so helpful as I became ill during my stay but he went to the chemist for me and got some tablets which made me fell better. Very comfortable rooms with air conditioning and a fan which worked well for the Granada heat. Would highly recommend
Even though this hotel is in the heart of Granada very near the Square and we were there during big parties in parades somehow it remained quiet. And our room was next to the pool and close to the kitchen area and yet it wasn’t loud, people are very respectful it is not a party spot
The hotel has awesome colonial characteristics and a great inner courtyard. The room was clean and spacious and had working AC. The staff were especially friendly and helped us pick some places to explore in Granada. Overall, it's a great stay right in central Granada.
The hotel was a good surprise. The staff was incredibly friendly, and the facility was beat with spacious bedrooms . Mine was next door to the pool and had a great view. The hotel by itself looks neat, and the rooms are comfortable.
Delicious breakfast, very accommodating hotel owner, and located right in the middle of Granada and Laguna Apollo. If you have a car or moto its the best place to stay around. Layed back but clean and comfortable. Thanks Martina!
The staff were lovely, professional and very helpful
The room was huge, very clean and the bed, very confortable
The pool area, gorgeous
The building colonial and beautifully decorated
Probably the prettiest building in Granada. Super large hotel. Staff it super nice, helpful, and friendly. Lots of tour offerings. Nice pool and hang area. Good to work from.
Great clean pool and common areas. Really nice kitchen. Good AC in rooms. Nice free welcome drink. Perfect location on the main square. Beautiful old colonial building.
Nice hotel in the centre of Granada, with good size rooms.
After a full day of tours under the sun, we enjoyed the access to the swimming pool until 10pm.
