This is walking distance from the bus station. However, if you have luggage, you'll be dragging it to 6-10 mins to the hotel. It might be hard if you come during winter. It is near the old town and a supermarket. The buffet breakfast with all those cheese are the best.
Quality Hotel Ålesund is centrally located in the popular Skansekaia Harbor area, overlooking the sea and surrounding islands. It offers a private quay and rooms with free WiFi.

It is a very cozy space, very clean in a great location and as some other guests said it is much prettier than what the pictures show.
Our stay was short but it has everything you may need for a longer stay.

I loved that it wasn't very big, yet there was plenty to do there, and it was beautiful as well. I really enjoyed hiking up around the Aksla. There were plenty of excursions that could be done from there, and the scenery was gorgeous. It was very easy getting around the town, whether on fun or via public transportation, and it was relaxing.

Alesund is very beautiful seen from above so make sure you go to Aksla viewpoint where you arrive.
You will love the city if you love the Art Nouveau style.
I am not a fan of this type of architecture so I was not amazed by the city while I was walking in. There is a bit of lack of life and it's very quiet.
However, the landscapes and the nature all around the city is absolutly stunning so this is a great reason to visit this town.

Great city to end my trip around the famous Norwegian Fjords. Clean and walkable city center. Don’t miss out on the 400 steps to the view point above the park. A few restaurants to choose from. Visit the Ålesund aquarium and take a stroll around the old harbor area.

Alesund is a nice town, with much to see. We only thought that there wasn't a lot to do in the evening. For excursions there is plenty of possibilities. Two days is enough for me. Nice that we have seen this.

We were there too late in the season to do the things we wanted to do. The fjord trip was great, but I was hoping to get to Geiranger and Trollsteigen. A pretty place, but not much to see or do in October.

Ålesund is not a nice stay for people who enjoy nature.
Ålesund is not a nice stay for people who enjoy nature. We did the walk to the summit but that was all we enjoyed. So glad we did not stay two nights. It’s a very strange place with few places to eat.
Very good location in the middle of everything. Short walk to the bus terminal, from where you can travel anywhere in Ålesund and the surrounding areas.
Room with a big window that opens. access to the panoramic balcony
THE HOTEL WILL BE CLOSE IN A MONTH and turned into a lodging house for immigrants, apparently the Norwegian standard does not allow this place as a hotel.
But for immigrants ... I don't know who decided ... that it would be great for immigrants.
Check-in - easy. Front desk is open during normal business/check in hours, exchanged info about the apartment and nearby parking. The apartments are centrally located, a 5 minute walk from the harbor and old part of Alesund.
Excellent recommendations for local restaurants (we ate at Egon's). Very nice supermarket one block away from the apartment as well for your breakfast needs (along with a few bakeries if you're not up to preparing breakfast).
This was almost the best accommodation of our 2000-km road trip in 2023. Do not keep scrolling, choose this one! Its location and the access to the room is No1. I just love the way the whole place looks - it is a concrete-built, modern building with many small staircases and hallways, both inside and out. And the room was bigger and more liveable than I thought by the pictures. Finally the bad was the biggest one of our trip to Norway!
This may be our favorite location of any place we stayed in Norway! The house had a wonderful view that we spent hours enjoying, and everything inside the house was perfect. We really appreciated having a washer and dryer available. The host was very responsive and helpful. We hope to stay at this property again, and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a place in this area.
Nice regular Norwegian hotel. Nice breakfast, very pleasant service (like in all the hotels in Norway though) of calling the taxi to the place from the Ipad at the entrance. Very good location provided that Alesund is a small city and all the places are very close. Very nice window view from the room to the harbour. Overall very pleasant experience.
The location was good, easy street parking during off hours, very easy to collect the keys, and groceries across the street, easy walk to downtown Alesund and restaurants and shops. Kitchen was large, well equipped and easy to use. Washer and dryer is a huge bonus. There was plenty of room to spread out, and the furniture was comfortable.
I expected a view of the bay, but got a view of a huge ship, the parking near the hotel does not belong to the hotel and I had to pay an additional 250 kroons for parking, I booked a room for two adults and a child, when I arrived they demanded to pay 300 NIS for a bed for a child . In a word, the worst hotel I have ever stayed in....
The host, Rolf, was very friendly and talkative and supportive. The location of Kirkegata is fabulous for visiting Aalesund by foot with all urban niceties nearby. we had enjoyed our stay in Aalesund very much. Out on the street there is free night and Sunday parking. Internet and all amenities worked well and reliably.
Good location. Easy access to the city center and harbor area. The Vy bus from/to the airport stops right in front of the hotel. The breakfast is amazing with good enough space to accommodate all the guest wishing to have breakfast there.
Wonderfully updated historic hotel, with old beams and character retained. Nice, but not spacious rooms with water view.
Very impressive and welcoming fireplace downstairs lounge with chimney rising up 3 stories.
Cozy and lovely place is located close to the city centre with fantastic view. Very clean and have all required facilities to stay here with comfort. Really recommend this place to start exploring Norway.
The storytelling historic house makes us to feel like being noble back in old time. Great location at the entrance of picturesque open air Alesund sunnmore museum: 56 old and distinct
The apartment was so close to most attractions. Was super clean. Frode was a good host with friendly and necessary communication. Great value for Money for Norway.
Good location, parking nearby, we had a simple and clean room with big windows, hotel located in not so busy but nice street, restaurants are also nearby.
