The hotel is basic but very reasonably priced and well located on the edge of the centre of Stavanger. We came in on a late flight arriving after midnight, so wanted somewhere affordable to stay with 24 hour check-in desk where we were close enough to the city so that it would be easy to access it the next day. The receptionist was helpful. The hotel was a good fit.

It was a relief not to have to rush to the airport in the morning. I arrived at the hotel in the evening, allowing me to peacefully prepare for the flight in the morning.
Madla is a residential area, basically. A suburb of Stavanger. It is OK for cyclists and drivers but it is rather spread out and tricky to get around if you are on foot. It is a beautiful semi-rural seaside spot if the weather is fine.
