We were very satisfied with this hotel. The surrounding area is stunning, breakfast has many healthy options, the town is quiet at night but we found two very tasty restaurants nearby. The house is spotless clean, Teresa is a very polite and helpful caretaker.

The hotel's architecture is modern, elegant and tasteful. I highlight the beauty of the view from the rooms, through the glass panel. In addition to the vineyards, which greatly beautify the property.

The views of the Douro Valley from The Vine House could not be beat- They were breathtaking! The property itself was cute and stylish, and has a great infinity pool! We stayed in a room with a terrace, also with an excellent view. The room was adequately sized, clean, and the bed was comfortable. I would recommend adding on the continental breakfast... it was quite standard but good, and other breakfast dining options in the area were limited, so we were happy to have done this. We rented a car and did not have any issues navigating to the property. It is a one-lane dirt road for part of the drive up the hill, but we did not find it challenging or scary as other reviewers have commented and have found that this is quite common for most of the properties in the area.

The Quinta de Sao Luiz, where we were staying, made a reservation for us at a restaurant in Tabuaco. The drive to the restaurant was challenging due to the serpentine road and rainy weather. I don't think there was much to do in that small town, but we had an okay experience at the restaurant.

The trip to the Quinta was through some wonderful rambling winding roads in the Douro valley. There are many places to visit there, and although we thought the location was perfect, some might like a location closer to town and not so far from Porto.

Charming town not overrun with tourists.
Charming town not overrun with tourists. Phenomenal tous it information center with helpful staff. Cute museum display. Just nice little town in the mountains not far from vineyards and DOC restaurant.
A spotlessly clean, comfortable apartment. The bedroom and bathroom are stunning. Air conditioning a plus, as are the laundry facilities. Lovely terrace, great views, quiet little village. Easy access to other areas of the Douro. Parking in the apartments’ car park is tricky if you have a big car but possible. There is also some easier parking at the top of the street nearby. Need to drive to restaurants. Limited bench space to prepare food. We really loved our stay here. Easy communication with owner. Highly recommend. Thank you.
Wonderful small boutique hotel, nicely designed in a great location right in the center of the winery with exceptional views of the valley, and river, plus outstanding hospitable staff makes this place a perfect choice to stay in The Duoro Valley.
The complimentary tour of the winery was like icing on the cake.
Anna, specially went beyond her line of duty to make our stay perfect and memorable. She treated us like a family member.
Luiz, our wine tour guide was very knowledgable and made this the best wine tour we ever had.
We wanted a quaint but fulfilling getaway in Douro Valley. We spent part of our honeymoon at this property and are thrilled that we did.
The views are incredible. The cottage we stayed in had a kitchenette, a living area with a view and a porch that was hard to leave.
This stay requires a drive and the closest restaurants are about a 15-minute drive but if you bring a few items for meals, it simplifies the travel. Anywhere you stay in the “mountains,” a remote experience is expected. We loved Edna, who runs the property.
Magical place! Stunning house with pool on the grounds of a great Quinta overlooking the Douro. It‘s the only guest accomodation on the wine producing Quinta at the moment, tastefully decorated. Patricia is a great host. She has been walking us through the wine, explaining everything. The wine tasting had been wonderful, the elegant wines absolutely great. We definitely recommend this place to everyone looking for a quiet, relaxing stay.
This was a very nice hotel, and great value.
The room was very nicely done up. The shower pressure was excellent & the bathroom was very clean.
Breakfast was advertised as featuring local products. I don't know about that but it was a good spread. Pumpkin coconut jam was excellent & quince jelly was pretty good too. The unlabelled conserves and white cheese were good too.
The location was beautiful and our hosts were very accommodating. We enjoyed learning about the Quinta and the Douro Valley area. Wine tasting was excellent. Jose provided us with some great restaurant recommendations, and ideas for visiting in the area. Theresa was a great communicator and answered all our questions.
We loved staying at this adorable farm house. The weather didn't cooperate, but nonetheless, the area is gorgeous and we had a great time! We also were happy that our small dog was able to enjoy the trip with us. We were also super happy to have heat as it was quite cold in the Douro Valley during our stay!
Edna is an amazing host!! Thank you so much for everything 🤍
- incredible views
- quiet and spacious accommodation with 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms
- fridge is stocked with breakfast items and fresh bread delivered to your door in the morning
- wine tasting was a highlight
EVERYTHING! WOW. we would like to move there forever! Beautiful balcony overlooking the Douro river, beautiful room, wonderful hosts, very attentive. gorgeous property and loved the complimentary wine tasting there. Awesome breakfast. it was perfection.
It's a beautiful property inside and out -- many excellent design decisions. We enjoyed walking around the Adorigo village (Tabuaço district) an authentic Douro neighborhood. It's a fun ten minute drive up twisty roads from the river at Quinta do Tedo.
This is a boutique hotel with a feeling of home. The hospitality was excellent. The room is very cozy and clean, excellent and varied breakfast. The owner of the hotel is also a chef and has a restaurant near the hotel, it is recommended to visit it.
The hotel's architecture is modern, elegant and tasteful. I highlight the beauty of the view from the rooms, through the glass panel. In addition to the vineyards, which greatly beautify the property.
The location and the view over the river Douro were stunning.
Breafast on the terrace overlooking the Douro.
The swimming pool.
The well kept gardens and vineyards.
The pussy cat!
The cottage at Quinta do Esphino was absolutely amazing. Ana was the most welcoming and helpful host ever. The vineyard grounds and the location in the Douro are perfect.
The breakfast was exceptional, serve specifically to us at our table. Funny, ut we were the only guests in the hotel and there was a full staff to serve our needs.
