You’re surrounded by greenery and can hear the ocean in the background, it’s a little slice of heaven. Wonderful communal breakfast a few times a week. Easy to get to beach, and a great burger spot and grocery store nearby. Highly recommend!

Herons Reef Holiday Apartments offers self-contained accommodation in Rarotonga with lovely views, just steps from the secluded beach and shallow lagoon. It features a BBQ area and garden. The Mountain View apartment had everything I needed for just over 2 weeks. The location on the reef is lovely, and the gardens are fabulous. It’s not suitable for swimming but great for whale watching, and reef shoe rambling. I would book this place again. It’s close to Avarua, and Muri, but a little too far to walk. I hired a pushbike to get around the island, although the island bus is great value.
