Offering a rooftop pool and conference facilities, the new refurbished and reopened Hotel Avenida is located in the heart of Maputo and 20 minutes' drive from Maputo International Airport. The location is perfect, right in the middle of the town centre. The rooms are surprisingly big with a nice big sofa in the living area. The cleaners do an excellent job and all of the staff are very friendly and helpful. The pool on the roof is an added bonus.

Conveniently situated in the Polana Cimento A district of Maputo, HOTEL RESIDENCIAL CITY is set 3 km from Joaquin Chissano International Conference Center, 3.6 km from National Money Museum Maputo and... The location and price was great. Could take a jog in the mornings and there were coffee shops and a bakery close by. The aircon was funcional and the bathroom adequate.

Offering a sun terrace and views of the city, Guesthouse MALAGUETA INN I & II is located in Maputo, 200 metres from Geology Museum. Guests can enjoy the on-site restaurant. Very small but very nice guesthouse on top of the well known Piri Piri restaurant - you enter via the staircase on the right of Piri Piri, through a "shop" that's only there in daytime - up the staircase, then to the backside and then to the LEFT to a solid looking metal door - there is a doorbell there for the guesthouse. Telling this in detail as I and others missed it at first. The owners are very very friendly helpful and nice, and speak good English. The rest of the staff is equally wonderful, but only speak Portuguese. Rooms are small but adequate. Do NOT expect a business hotel, this is a simply guesthouse! I spent there a week and enjoyed it! The breakfast is really nice (no buffet, it's made for you), when you are not in a rush. Highly recommended for people who are not in a rush and not looking for luxuries. Plenty of good restaurants around by the way (more upmarket for Mozambique), Indian Ocean is in close walking distance (nice walks).

Featuring a balcony with city views, pool with a view and a terrace, Palm Aparthotel can be found in Maputo, close to Museum of Natural History and 2.7 km from Maputo City Hall. From the front desk to the cleaners and the restaurant all staff at the Palm are excellent and do a fantastic job of looking after guests.
