The property suggested a nearby car park, which we were able to find easily (though the pay machines were a bit dodgy with international credit cards) and it was only a short stroll to the house. Instructions to get in were fairly strait forward. The rooms were as described - a good sized queen and separate single with adjoining bathroom. I'm sad I didn't get to try out the awesome bath but the double shower was great! The location is excellent, with a short stroll to many eateries and the main shops etc. Mini bar fridge was appreciated.

Overlooking picturesque hills, Meadowcroft Country Guesthouse is a family-run guest house in the tranquil Village of Ings, 2 miles from Windermere. There is free Wi-Fi in the bedrooms.

Rooms at Meadowcroft are traditionally furnished, and benefit from a TV and tea and coffee making facilities. There is storage space in bedside chests of drawers and a wardrobe in every room. This was one of our favorite stops on our recent trip. We all agreed, the beds were comfortable, the showers were hot, and the rest of the amenities were great. Elliott was a great host - giving us some advice about our next stop. Breakfast was delicious. With a pub within walking distance we couldn't ask for a better location.

The Westbourne is a beautiful guest house set in the peaceful area below Biskey Howe in the Lake District. Bedrooms feature walk-in-shower rooms, luxurious toiletries and large fluffy towels.

The Westbourne serves traditional English breakfast. Guests can also relax in the conservatory or comfortable lounge with real log fire. Lovely warm welcome, beautiful room, spotlessly clean. The only place we have stayed which was better in reality than the advertising photos. Attention to detail was excellent, down to the herbal tea selection in the room.

Jerichos is a contemporary family-run guest house with stylish decor situated on a quiet side street in the heart of Windermere village. There is free Wi-Fi and free ample private parking.

Suitable for adults only, each room at Jerichos come with flat-screen TVs, en suite bathrooms and iPod docks. Tea/coffee making facilities are also provided. Original Victorian period features adorn the property, which also offers a cosy lounge. Breakfast was excellent, a good variety to choose from.

Location excellent, beautiful house, comfortable bed and super pillows. Amazing quality breakfast. Great friendly, highly efficient staff. Would definitely return. The units in the guest house are equipped with a hair dryer and a CD player. Michael and Ann where the perfect hosts . Nothing was too much trouble and would meet your every need. Anne even had a birthday cake for my wife's birthday! Michael even let me try his favourite gin at breakfast! A lovely quiet calm to the house as a whole with a large bright dining room used for breakfast with wonderful view.

Set in Dearham, 26 km from Buttermere, The Old Mill Inn offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a terrace and a restaurant. Offering a bar, the property is located within 30 km of Derwentwater. This pet-friendly inn also has free WiFi. Very clean and spacious, attractive room, huge comfortable bed with good quality bed linen, big TV, spacious bathroom, large shower cubicle and great towels, first meal in the restaurant was delicious (beef bourguignon), good local ale at a reasonable price, breakfast was mixed but full English was very good. Dark haired lady on duty on our first night was lovely, friendly and very professional (apologies for not having a name). Contact via the app was good and the code access worked well. We enjoyed our stay.

Set in Keswick and only 5.8 km from Derwentwater, Dalegarth Guesthouse Portinscale offers accommodation with mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking. This recently renovated guest house is located 14 km from Buttermere and 35 km from Askham Hall. Guests can make use of a garden. Top B&B managed by the owners, great location, ample parking, excelent rooms, nice bar and delicious breakfast.
