In a prime location in Chiang Mai, Ruanmata Homestay offers air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi and free private parking. I loved everything about Ruanmata! It is a very special place to stay at a reasonable price. You are truly treated like a guest. The owner and staff are super friendly, and Monica treated me like a friend. She even drove me to an electronics shop to get a new phone charger cord, arranged for me to stay in another hotel as I stayed an extra day and my room was booked, and walked there with my suitcase. The breakfast was delicious - and so much food: omelette, salad with homemade dressing, fruit and other Thai foods. I loved the sticky rice each day, especially the one roasted in bamboo. As for the place itself, the location is great and because it is tucked away on a back street, it is very quiet at night. Essentially, your room is in a home with beautiful teak floors and tasteful decor. The bed is comfy and covered with a luxurious quilt, the bathroom is clean and bright and everything works. I just can’t say enough about how much I enjoyed staying there! I will definitely recommend Ruanmata to my friends and stay again if I’m ever privileged to come to Chiang Anaí again.

Located in Chiang Mai, 400 metres from Chedi Luang Temple and 400 metres from the centre, Nu Phen Homestay provides air-conditioned accommodation with free WiFi, and a shared lounge. It was our first Homestay experience as a family of six. We really enjoyed meeting people from all over the world. Noon was an exceptional host! She hired a driver to take us to Chiang Rai which was significantly cheaper than going with a tour group. She also provided our younger kids with a few toys and crafts. She was so sweet and generous! We grew very fond of her and her family during our 12 day stay. The property was very clean and tidy. We never had an issue with sharing the bathrooms even though I had been nervous about it. The linens and pillows were very comfortable. The breakfast was simple fresh fruit, toast and jam, and some variety (egg, banana or toasted coconut) of sticky rice wrapped in a banana leaf. There is a woman just 100 meters down the alleyway that makes fresh fruit smoothies and espresso drinks for 35Bht. We visited her often. The location is excellent! All the night markets are close enough to walk to. I enjoyed exercising in the city park which is very close as well.

The location was amazing. The host was very friendly and super helpful. This place is right outside the night markets and still in the room it was quiet and peaceful. Food, water, snacks, massage, entertainment, accessibility, and markets, everything available at the doorstep. There is an actual toilet and bathroom, the shower works amazing. There was a beautiful terrace as well if you wanna just chill and relax instead of exploring. Simply glad to have stayed here.
