Well set in the centre of Sofia, Art Hotel 158 provides air-conditioned rooms, a garden, free WiFi and a shared lounge. I liked the location of the hotel was within walking decent to the metro and tram. The hotel and room was very modern and cozy. I was able to watch loads of YouTube videos and Netflix on a big flatscreen TV. Definitely a great stay for anyone traveling alone.

Beautiful modern hotel with a very nice spa and an attractive rooftop bar. Breakfast was a delight. The bed was so comfortable and large that I wished to stay for longer than we planned. The lights in the room are excellently balanced, along with tiny night lights with a movement sensor switch. The bathrooms are large and spotlessly clean. We had a connecting room with our teenagers.

Superfin utsikt fra baren i toppetasjen. Veldig rent over alt. Vi fikk sjekke inn to timer før tiden, noe vi satt stor pris på.

Located in the heart of Sofia, InterContinental Sofia offers two restaurants, a 24/7 fitness centre and city and mountain views. Everything. We LOVED this place. The on-request breakfasts, the large family room with two large beds, and the L’Occitane toiletries were excellent. But, what really was terrific was the service. We used the concierge service to book tours, and also the team at breakfast remembered our coffee orders and the children’s hot chocolate and pancake orders – promptly served them to our table each day. Best way to start each day.

Sofia er ikke turistvennlig. Gateskilt og kart med kyrilliske bokstaver, ikke lett å ta seg fram når du ikke kan lese hvor du er. Vanskelig å gjøre seg forstått på engelsk. Lite imøtekommende folk.

Escaperoom er tingen i Sofia. Fantastisk tilbud. Handlegata var fin. Billig lunsj og billig drikke. Utestedene spiller musikk fra 80-tallet. Det passer jo perfekt. Trygt og sikkert på natten. Fantastisk for helgetur.

Sentrum av Sofia er veldig kompakt.
Sentrum av Sofia er veldig kompakt. Alle attraksjonene er tilgjengelig til fots. På kveldstid holdt jeg meg til paradegata Vitousha boulevard. Der var et yrende folkeliv. Gata pekte mot fjellet Vitousha. Dette er et fjell som strekker seg nesten 2300 moh på det høyeste. Det skal visstnok gå en kabelbane til toppen. På dagtid gikk jeg utenfor turistløypa. Da ble det mer synlig at dette er et av de fattigere landene i EU. Der så jeg folk sitte på fortauet mens de forsøkte selge tomater og andre greier de trolig hadde dyrket selv. Sofia fremstod for meg som en nesten helt vanlig europeisk storby, bortsett fra mangelen på åpenbare turister, og litt slitne fasader og fortau.

Sofia var en positiv overraskelse.
Sofia var en positiv overraskelse. De fleste attraksjonene lå i sentrum. Utrolige utgravninger var godt tatt vare på. Lite turistifisert gjorde byen enda mer spennende. Man gikk sjelden i kø, avslappet fin atmosfære.

Vi besøkte Alexander Nevski-katedralen og den russiske kirken. Tok oss ellers en liten spasertur i det umiddelbare nærområdet, slik vi hadde planlagt. Går helt fint å kjøre, og å finne parkering. Litt inviklet parkeringsopplegg å finne ut av, men vi fikk god hjelp. Bulgarere er veldig hyggelige. Vi kjøpte take away på Corso på 10 Tsar Osvoboditel Blvd. Et flott sted med en fantastisk utsikt og beliggenhet, i sentrum av Sofia.

I liked Sofia, good city with a lot of parks and spaces. Interesting monuments and stories from the communism era. Cheap place as well, and weather was great during my stay (August)

Sofia was surprisingly pleasant.
Sofia was surprisingly pleasant. I recommend walking around exploring the city. Visit quaint little sidewalk cafes, sit down in the city park, enjoy the architecture and the vibrant city life.

I likhet med mye av Øst-Europa, er Sofia et undervurdert...
I likhet med mye av Øst-Europa, er Sofia et undervurdert reisemål. Byen er lett å orientere seg i, og attraksjonene ligger ikke langt fra hverandre. Taxi er ekstremt billig.

Folkene er var ikke hyggelig.( hvis du er en svart person) uansett hvor vi gikk så folk veldig stygg på meg og kjærester min! ( han er hvite og jeg er svart) De tok bilder av meg og begynte å ler hver gang de så meg! Jeg kommer aldri tilbake til Sofia!
