Olomouc is a lovely, small town, which is easy to explore.
Olomouc is a lovely, small town, which is easy to explore. It has a really beautiful city centre, with a lot of monuments, museums and churches. I would recommend to see Church of Saint Michael, if you were to see only one church in Olomouc. There are many fountains as well for such a small place. Further, Olomouc has quite a lot of greenery too -- big parks to walk and to relax. I was disappointed about Botanical Gardens, which was nothing compared to ALL Botanical Gardens, which I've seen till now. I would recommend to see 'Bezručovy sady', which is lovely park with parts of old town wall. Another place worth to see, if you are a nature lover, is 'Sbírkové skleníky', which has three glass houses: palm, cactus and tropical. Olomouc has new, modern shopping mall called 'Galerie Šantovka', whit a lot of shops and cinema. Not to forget about the food. Olomouc has quite a lot of vegan and vegetarian restaurants. I would recommend vegan restaurant 'Ziva zahrada', which has the most delicious raw cakes I was eating since long. Unfortunately, it is open only Monday-Friday. But there is one vegetarian (kind of self service) restaurant in 'Galerie Šantovka', with surprisingly tasty food. Good value for money is Olomouc region Card, which allows you a free entrance and discounts not just to almost all monuments in Olomouc, but in the whole region. Undiscovered cute town well worth to visit more than just once (to get that delicious cake again ;)
