Staff great. A little expensive compared to other hotels. Staff should have cleared pathway from car park to reception-really icy and dangerous in winter weather. Welcome to Aurora Lodge Hotel, where adventure awaits! Our complex of 8 charming buildings sits right on the banks of the East Rangá River, just a stone's throw from the Icelandic Route 1 (Ring Road)... Very cozy facilities and the hot tub outside was a plus when we arrived and it was freezing. Large rooms and perfect lobby for a drink while watching the snow fall. Breakfast was 10/10!

Located in Hvolsvöllur, 16 km from Seljalandsfoss, Skálakot Manor Hotel provides accommodation with a terrace, free private parking, a restaurant and a bar. I loved absolutely everything about this manor. It was refined-country, cozy, crisp, and sophisticated-for-Iceland without being pretentious or minimalistic. Painted wooden panels, lush couches and beds that you sink into, spacious bathrooms. Beyond the decor being truly attractive, the staff was always smiling and helpful. After a freezing trip under the Seljalandsfoss waterfall's spray, I felt my extremities again in their clean sauna and further rejuvenated in the pool looking directly out into the landscape. Food was delicious with intriguing combinations of tastes. Parking was free and plentiful, access from the main road was simple, yet removed from the fray. I highly recommend this hotel/manor.

El lloc és preciós. És molt confortable, tant l'habitació com els diferents espais, entre ells, les aigües termals. El personal molt servicial. El menjar molt bo. Potser per dir alguna cosa, vam trobar a faltar alguna pasta dolça a l'ermorzar tipus croissant. La carta del sopar molt curta, però la qualitat del menjar ho va compensar.
