Staff great. A little expensive compared to other hotels. Staff should have cleared pathway from car park to reception-really icy and dangerous in winter weather. Welcome to Aurora Lodge Hotel, where adventure awaits! Our complex of 8 charming buildings sits right on the banks of the East Rangá River, just a stone's throw from the Icelandic Route 1 (Ring Road)... Very cozy facilities and the hot tub outside was a plus when we arrived and it was freezing. Large rooms and perfect lobby for a drink while watching the snow fall. Breakfast was 10/10!

The family-owned Hótel Lækur is set on an Icelandic horse farm, between the Golden Circle and the south coast. Hella is 10 minutes’ drive away. It offers a sun terrace and a guest lounge. Super friendly staff. They give you a knock on the door if northern lights show up. We would have missed them otherwise. We also got some tips for nice spots were not all the tourists go. Super comfy beds. Bathroom is a bid small but for us not an issue. I would definetly recommend everyone to stay there. Ask for room 16 to get amazing sunrise view out of your bed!

It was refined-country, cozy, crisp, and sophisticated-for-Iceland without being pretentious or minimalistic. Painted wooden panels, lush couches and beds that you sink into, spacious bathrooms. Beyond the decor being truly attractive, the staff was always smiling and helpful. After a freezing trip under the Seljalandsfoss waterfall's spray, I felt my extremities again in their clean sauna and further rejuvenated in the pool looking directly out into the landscape. Food was delicious with intriguing combinations of tastes. Parking was free and plentiful, access from the main road was simple, yet removed from the fray. I highly recommend this hotel/manor.
