700 metres from Filipino Market Sabah, Signel Poshtel, the Rare Gem of North Borneo is set in Kota Kinabalu and offers air-conditioned rooms. This modern, clean facility was great. I loved the bed: individual lights, plugs for phone (with a little shelf) and a curtain for privacy. There were even two lockers per guest.

Was upgraded to King Suite.. by far the biggest and most comfortable hotel room I've ever stayed in! Do yourself a favour and book the King Suite.. you will absolutely feel like a king/queen. Excellent gym and pool facilities, food menu and cocktails were stellar.

Hotel doesn’t quite have a usual front desk, but this isn’t an issue at all… we were easily able to check in and very quickly be settled into our room even arriving 2:00 AM in dead of night after our flight. The room is superbly cleaned and very comfortable. Hotel staff are very reachable, responsive, and accommodating every need. About 3x the normal tea and coffee for use in the room (which I liked). Though we didn’t need it I was also happy to have the option for parking and baggage storage.

Best place we’ve stayed at in Malaysia so far. Great location - right next to the KK night market. Really nice, clean room with so many amenities! Water, fridge (for all out market goodies) slippers, iron, + thoughtful details like an umbrella, and much more. All presented beautifully with nice ribbons and packaging. The hosts were very attentive, helpful and kind. They made sure that our every need was addressed. They even accommodated for a slightly later check out due to some issues we had. Very updated look + free upgrade to a window room. It is easy to see they take great pride in their accommodations and a positive experience for their guests. Loved our stay here and would come again.

It was probably our best accommodation in Borneo when it comes to the quality of the rooms, and the personnel was very nice and attentive. It’s a bit far from the city centre but still located in a bustling commercial zone where you can find plenty of restaurants, cafes and shops.
