Situated in Takaka in the Tasman region, Labyrinth Gardens Guest House offers accommodation with free private parking, as well as access to a hot tub. What an absolutely amazing place! Our room was so quiet and comfy and the shared toilet and shower was clean and spacious. The kitchen was so well stocked (spices, utensils, pans, etc). This guest house is better than the pictures! The views in and around the house are absolutely breathtaking. I enjoyed having my coffee out on the front deck with an amazing view of the mountains. The owner was eager to help make us comfortable and offer suggestions on what to do in the area :) thank you!!

Offering free WiFi and set on the bank of a stream, Chalet Karaka offers accommodation 3 minutes' drive from Takaka village in Golden Bay. Chalet Karaka was absolutely delightful - a hidden gem, tucked away in a beautiful, tranquil bushy setting with a small picturesque stream running at the bottom of the garden. The shower was fantastic - excellent pressure with a lovely glass side looking out onto the private garden and stream. The room was spacious and well appointed and the icing on the cake was the generous outdoor undercover living area/deck complete with a Weber for all your barbecue requirements. Ngairie, our host, was friendly, welcoming and very helpful.

Waitapu Springs B&B is set in Takaka and offers a spa and wellness centre and a shared lounge. This 3-star bed and breakfast features a spa experience, with its sauna and hot tub. I thought it was just another homestay B&B probably a granny flat attached to the host's house where I may not even see people but it turned out to be a surprising encounter. It also operates spa and sauna that's free to B&B guests. Breakfast is included, not just those cereal or oatmeal but actually with more choices to cater different needs. Serge could even cook eggs in the way at your choice. Serge and Maria are both obviously passionate with their business. They sent useful information and guides about driving through Takaka Hill and answered questions timely before my arrival, navigated me the room and facilities when I arrived pretty late which left no fuss for me. The property has a vintage theme but the facilities are modern and hygeine. It's just a 5 minute drive from the Takaka town centre, easy for me to get there after dinner. Takaka is a stylish small town with quite some artistic shops.

Shady Rest Bed & Breakfast provides a garden, as well as accommodation with a kitchen in Takaka. The property features mountain and garden views. Great place to stay and explore Abel Tasman & Golden Bay. Mark is a perfect host, we spent a great time for Christmas at his B&B ! Rooms are spacious and clean, breakfast is great ! Could not recommend more.

Set in tranquil surroundings with beautiful gardens and just 10 minutes' North of Takaka, Patons Rock Beach Villas offers free WiFi and a barbecue. The beach is just a 4-minute walk from the property.... Beautiful location near to beach. Villa had everything we needed and was very clean and quiet. Lovely gardens.

Located in Takaka, 10 minutes' drive from the beach, The Rocks Chalets features air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi throughout the property. Free private parking is available on site. This was the best accommodation on our NZ trip. Not only was it dead quiet, comfy beds and super fast Wi-Fi with great amenities, it had its own glow worm cave!

Woodland eco retreat is set in Parapara. The property has garden views. There is a sun terrace and guests can make use of free WiFi and free private parking. We booked rather last minute and were pleasantly surprised by our accomodations. We booked it at 4pm, called, and Heather said to check in whenever we're ready. We got there around 5:30 after we picked up groceries for the next 2 days. It's easy to find and in a great location in Golden Bay amongst wooded nature. Upon parking, we were greeted immediately by Heather who helped cart our luggage across a bridge over a small creek. Our little house was a short walk across the lawn, and it was a large space with a lot of light. The photos don't do it justice. Heather had a vase full of fresh cut flowers, 2 bowls of fruit picked from her yard, and a platter of nuts for us to enjoy, and showed us how to use the composting toilet that was in an adjacent build out (it's not inside the house but the 2 step walk is connected and covered). Most toilets we encountered in Golden Bay were composting toilets. She also gave us the option of using the laundry facilities or the flush toilet in her house. Beds were comfortable, kitchen was fully functional, and showers were hot. It was peaceful, beautiful, quiet, and the stars were beautiful. Our toddler loved it. It feels like staying at my grandparent's house, which suited us just fine. On our checkout day, Heather came by and told us to take our time, since no one else booked the place. Great value, would stay there again!
