Set within the Tunku Abdul Rahman Park off the coast of Borneo, Gaya Island offers elegant villas with panoramic views of the South China Sea and the rainforest. There is nothing not to like here. The room was more than spacious and tastefully decorated. Everything was provided that you might need in your stay, and if it wasn't there, reception would take care of it. The staff are always friendly and the service was excellent. I am vegetarian and the chef in the fine dining restaurant prepared me some fake chicken drumsticks, they were very tasty (I informed them of my diet a day in advance). It was my birthday, so they brought me a small cake with a candle. These little touches give add to the experience.

Sepilok Forest Edge Resort is a nature retreat in Sandakan, a 15-minute walk from the Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre. staff were really friendly & great to chat to, food was excellent- good variety to satisfy all dietary preferences (tasty cocktails too!) location,scenery, building structures & grounds were really well designed. Can see a lot of wildlife around. Bungalows we’re clean, comfortable & constructed from local natural materials. LOVE THE OUTDOOR SHOWER!!!! Thanks to Ju, Wan & Ein for a really enjoyable stay - sorry for spelling ur names wrong 😂 Also, thanks to Steve, the dog! He’s just the best! 😍 Hope to see u all again ☺️🥰
