The dream come true in a ryokan (and affordable). I truly love the private onsen. It was bliss. The room, the yukatas, the ambience, the fact that look like is brand new construction but in a traditional aesthetic. A dream.

Situated in a tranquil area in Gifu Region, a 52-minute drive away from JR Takayama Station, Mozumo boasts a hot-spring bath and rooms decorated with modern Japanese interior. Stunning place between the mountains with natural hot springs. The hotel has secluded rooms with private pools with a wonderful view of the forest and garden. Spacious rooms with tatami mats, where they served us dinner and breakfast. The dinner was definitely a great experience and totally worth the money. The same goes for breakfast. Stuff was extremely attentive and really kind. Our biggest regret is that we have booked only one night.

Founded in 1860, Juhachiro is located along Nagara River and boasts indoor and outdoor natural hot spring baths. The property is a 15-minute bus ride from Gifu Train Station. It was overall a wonderful weekend and a wonderful stay and experience in your super clean hotel. The Onsen were amazing and your rooms even made us stay the whole afternoon inside because we just felt like home. Thank you! Our stay was exceptionally great!

Offering traditional Japanese-style accommodation with spacious public baths, Yatsusankan is a 6-minute walk from JR Hidafurukawa Train Station. This was a charming, very well maintained ryokan! Our family enjoyed the indoor and outdoor onsen. The meals were delicious and presented beautifully! The staff were extremely kind and helpful. They can pick you up at the train station when you arrive. Would definitely come back again!
