Set 2.5 km from Kanazawa Station, 3.7 km from Myoryuji - Ninja Temple and 200 metres from Utasu Shrine, UTAIMACHI offers accommodation located in Kanazawa. Everything was perfect. The apartment was huge and had all the necessary amenities. The area, although touristy during the day, was always very quiet and noise-free. At night, it was very quiet and peaceful and there were lots of restaurants nearby. Everything was very clean, and the staff was super friendly.

Located a 5-minute drive from JR Kanazawa Station, Ryokan Yamamuro offers Japanese-style guestrooms with free WiFi. Omicho Market and Kanazawa Castle Park can both be reached with a 5-minute walk. The room was nice and traditional. A hot bath is available and can be used by couples. The host Bungo helped us book bus tickets for Shirakawago (if you want to go, book in advance) and helped call a taxi for when we left. The building and garden suffered some minor damages from the January 1st earthquake, we hope repairs go well.

Boasting a 200-year history, Motoyu Ishiya features classic architecture, an original Noh stage and a garden. It was a truly memorable experience; we will never forget our stay here. We had been to a ryokan before we had children and we wanted to share the experience with our twelve and fourteen year old. The staff was exceptional - so welcoming, friendly and caring (my son had quite a few random nose bleeds and they were so helpful and considerate). The Onsen was a fantastic experience, especially for Westerners. It was so tranquil and relaxing. The food was beautifully presented and was a feast to behold. We did struggle with some of the tastes and textures! The staff was exceptional and made us feel very comfortable during dinner and breakfast when it was obvious that we were finding it difficult to eat some of the food! We loved all the interesting artefacts and spent a good hour wandering around the ryokan and discovering all the nooks and crannies. The room was fabulous - so traditional and different to what we are used to at home! Thank you for a fantastic Japanese experience!

Boasting indoor and outdoor hot-spring baths and a waterside Japanese garden, Matsusaki is a 20-minute drive from JR Matsuto Train Station. No better way to get a deep bath into Japanese culture. Lovely staff, well organised transport, great food, warm Onsen and relax!

Offering views of the Sai River, Yuyaruru Saisai’s spacious Japanese-style rooms have an LCD TV and a private bath. I liked everything ! the room was very big and comfortable. great bed and traditional service ! the staff was super kind , very helpful with our requests and available for any questions. breakfast was really good as well. not in city center but well connected with nice view and peace and quiet, much needed !

It features a garden, hot public baths and coin-operated laundry facilities. fantastic family run ryokan (traditional japanese inn), with a shared onsen, outstanding food, and a traditional room with tatami floors, paper wall deco and clothes to wear during the stay (not mandatory of course). The manager is very kind and paying close attention to details. We had a delicious dinner in the room (highly recommended!!) prepared by the family, with salmon, tempura, sashimi, a large prawn, miso soup, rice, fruits, and may small nipples - it's the best dinner experience we had in Japan.
