Housed in a historic building, the recently renovated Mitsubikiya features accommodation with a garden and free WiFi. The air-conditioned accommodation is 800 metres from Matsumoto Station. Had to check in early which wasn't a problem. The two staff were great - they speak English quite well, and were very patient with our very poor Japanese. Dinner + Breakfast is really good (but you do need to let them know you would like to have dinner when you are making your booking).

Located 47 km from The Japan Ukiyo-e Museum, Kamikochi Nishi-itoya Mountain lodge offers accommodation with a balcony, as well as a garden and a shared lounge. Comfortable stay. Great staff.

Located in the historical Shibu Onsen district, 渋温泉小石屋旅館 offers both private and dormitory-style guest rooms as well as an on-site restaurant where local dishes, wines and craft beers are available. The staff were so nice. The free shuttle to the snow monkeys. Good coffee.

Boasting open-air hot spring baths, a heated indoor pool and beautiful Japanese gardens, Senjukaku offers traditional Japanese-style accommodation that has a historic charm. The hotel seems a bit dated, but it more than makes up with old school charm. A lot of effort was put into creating an exquisite experience showcasing Japanese food and culture. The special care put into preparing the rooms, onsen and even the manicured gardens will draw you to stay longer at such a welcoming hotel.it is no wonder the current Emperor and Empress of Japan have stayed there a few times! A bonus that the hotel is located about a 5min walk to the start of the snow monkey park! Thank you for your kind hospitality. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, and had fun wearing the specially prepared yutakas to walk around the hotel.

Hotel Fuki no Mori ligger 10 minutters kjøring fra Nagiso jernbanestasjon med hotellets gratistransport. Her kan du ta spaserturer i hagen eller i de naturskjønne omgivelsene rundt hotellet. The breakfast was absolutely wonderful with a mix of interesting and tasty food. It looked beautiful too. The onsen was amazing with wonderful facilities. We particularly enjoyed the outside onsen in the early morning. We paid for an evening meal( there was nowhere else to go anyway) and it was wonderful. Such interesting and beautifully presented food. Our waiter explained what everything was.

A 7-minute walk from Yudanaka Train Station, Yorozuya features hot spring baths, a hot tub and Japanese-style rooms with a private terrace and private bathroom. A true ryokan experience with an exceptional food service. This heritage building is well-kept, dignified, and an absolute delight. There was no need to leave the building to have a satisfying bath—indoor or outdoor. I loved the private bath, and the overall tradition of the ryokan. The staff was so accommodating of our late check-in, took care to deliver our luggage to the station while we go to the Snow Monkey Park, and were attentive to our needs.

Situated just a 5-minute walk from historic Togakushi Shrine, Oshi Ryokan is traditional lodging accommodation in the peaceful mountain area, which used to cater for pilgrims. The warm hospitality conveyed by Oshi san and wife, delicious and priceless home cooked meals and the serenity of the surroundings. its basically a quaint village up the mountainside. Even the soba shops in the area serve food from the heart - the quality and quantity of ingredients served is way different from the towns!

Only a 10-minute drive from Snow Monkey Park, Yudanaka Onsen Yamazakiya offers simple Japanese-style accommodations with free Wi-Fi. We really enjoyed experience: Very friendly and helpful host, speaking English the excellent food at breakfast and dinner, variety of vegetable/fish and very nice presentation, excellent in quality and quantity, a joy for the eyes and the body. Nice interior of the room and hotel, quiet at night Onsen inside the hotel, by booking your time. This was fantastic as we could enjoy the experience as a private onsen, highly appreciated. A 3-minute walk from Nozawa Onsen Ski Resort, Kadowakikan features ski-to-door access, a hot spring bath and free WiFi. Mr. Kadowakikan was super friendly and helpful. He picked us up and dropped us off at the shuttle bus stop. He helped us order rental ski/snowboard equipment to the hotel. The hotel's own onsen was very clean and more comfortable than the town's free onsens.

A 5-minute walk from Yudanaka Train Station, Tawaraya offers Japanese-style accommodations with free Wi-Fi and a flat-screen TV. Every member of staff was extremely helpful and accommodating. They went out of their way to make me feel welcome. As it is a small ryokan, it really felt like the service was personalised. The set dinner menu was absolutely delicious - many and varied courses, expertly prepared. On the day I left, I needed to get to the train station before the taxi company was open for business. One of the staff kindly drive me to the station.
