Well situated in the Arifuku Onsen district of Gotsu, Sangai Ryokan is set 41 km from Nima Sand Museum, 47 km from Iwami Ginzan World Heritage Centre and 32 km from Yunotsu Onsen.

Shokinkan is set in Yasugi, 27 km from Lake Shinji, 29 km from Lafcadio Hearn Memorial Museum, and 25 km from Mizuki Shigeru Museum. The meals(dinner, breakfast) are absolulely delicious and healthy. Staffs are very kind.

Hoshi Ryokan offers simple Japanese-style accommodations with a flat-screen TV. This is a family owned ryokan and the hosts lady was super nice. She met us at a train station since she knew our train arrival time. That was a nice surprise. The ryokan itself is quite close to the station a couple of minutes walk away from the main town street. Tsuwano is a nice little town and you could easily spend a half or full day there. We had a half board arrangement and it was a blast - full set Japanese dinner with a sake tasting and equally complete Japanese breakfast. Tremendous value and reception! Highly recommend!

Ohashikan is a 5-minute drive from JR Matsue Station and a 15-minute walk from Matsue-jo Castle. It offers Japanese-style accommodation with 2 indoor baths, free parking and free Wi-Fi access. Stunning, authentic and clean room(s), kind and understanding staff who spoke to me slowly in Japanese to assist with checkin, and rules were reiterated in English on documents anyway despite Matsue being relatively rural. Absolutely beautiful view at both night and in the morning, I was shocked! Onsen came free with the stay. Zero complaints, the best stay of our trip around Japan.

Highly recommended guest house. It’s valuable for solo traveler to stay and enjoy the Japanese onsen culture The staff is super nice. They will notice my note and pick up from the JR station. I have lost my watch in the hotel and then the staff help me to deliver it . I really appreciate the help from them.

5.4 km from Lake Shinji in Matsue, Hotel Gyokusen features accommodation with access to a sauna, hot spring bath and public bath. The hotel is located away from the traffic and is very comfortable. What satisfied me extremely was the Japanese dinner. I stayed for three nights at the standard food level with no extra items. I requested, though, in advance to change the dinner items every night. Three Japanese course dinners were then served. I was served in a private dining room and attended by cheerful and very kind staffs. The items, variation, and the quantities were all much better than I expected. Not only the varieties of taste but also the arrangements (colors, temperature, shape of plates, and timings) are excellently done. I strongly recommend to stay at least three nights to enjoy fully what the traditional Japanese style of food can show. Another point to recommend is the services by the staffs. As the guests next to my room had a small kid running around, I asked the front to change my room (I had two more nights). The front immediately prepared a room on the other side for me so that I can sleep quietly.

Counting an almost 200-year history, Fukumakan features Japanese-style rooms and freestanding cottages, some overlooking Miho Bay. Proprietor and his staff are outstanding. The most interesting surroundings and “real Japanese” feeling of our trip.

OWL RESORT ARIFUKU ONSEN is located in the Arifuku Onsen district of Gotsu, 13 km from Gotsu City General Citizen Center Milky Way Hall, 41 km from Nima Sand Museum and 47 km from Iwami Ginzan World... The hotel is clean and maintained in perfect condition. The environment was very nice and quiet . The crews are perfect. The dinner was of superb style and quality. The stay was fantastic.
