Located in Miyoshi in the Tokushima region, Kazuraya provides accommodation with free private parking, as well as access to a public bath. Great and friendly employees which where able to speak English well. One could see that they are investing a lot in modernizing, which is quite uncommon among the Ryokan we have been too. The dinner and breakfast where great.

Featuring beautiful nature views from its rooftop hot spring bath, Hotel Kazurabashi offers Japanese-style rooms and a dining room where food is prepared in the hearth at the guest's table. tldr: perfect stay, we'd stay there again! Nice staff, good food, amazing Onsen, good value for money. Long version: Well kept, well maintained and clean hotel. We stayed in a tatami-style room, which was very roomy for 2 people. Our room on 3rd floor was facing the road, with a nice view of the mountains. Despite being located next to a road, it's no problem as there is little traffic during the day and almost none at night. There is an outdoor Onsen with a view of either the mountains during the day or the stars at night. It is so relaxing to enjoy the stars in the onsen after a day of hiking! For people arriving by car, there's plenty of parking spaces right in front of the Hotel. For people arriving by bus, the bus stop is right in front of the Hotel. Very convenient. The staff is amazing! They really, really made us feel welcome and put in a lot of effort to make our stay great. Big "Thank You" to the staff!! The food (breakfast and dinner) was great as well. It's a variety of local and general Japanese food, served on traditional low tables (that allow western type of sitting with a hole in the floor below the table). The Hotel is a bit more expensive than what we usually book and we were hesitant when we booked it, but after staying we think everything considered (food, onsen, staff) it's good value for money and we'd stay there again. Iya Valley: We stayed for 3 nights, which means two full days. We didn't have a car so we relied on the public bus, which means there's basically one bus to Mount Tsuragi in the morning and one bus back in the afternoon. We went hiking on Mount Tsuragi & sight-seeing in Ochiai village on one day, to Nogoro (Scarecrow) village & double vine bridges the other day. By car, it can be done on a single day, by bus you need 2 days due to the timetable. Arrival & departure day can be used for the vine bridge close to the Hotel, visiting Oboke and the temple in Kotohira.

Located right by the Oboke Gorge, Obokekyo Mannaka offers accommodations with free Wi-Fi and Japanese Yukata robes. I particularly like the interior decor of the room. It is new and modern and yet retain some Japanese elements, like a tatami floor in the sitting area. It is clean and attends to details such as providing a lot of sockets for electrical appliances. It is conveniently located in the Oboke region

Sunriver Oboke is located in Miyoshi, 29 km from Tsurugi-san Chairlift and 7 km from Iya Hot Spring. Free WiFi is offered and free private parking is available on site. Very nice, comfortable hotel. Friendly and helpful staff.

Offering beautiful views of the changing seasons in the Iya Valley, hotel Iya Onsen provides Japanese-style accommodation and natural hot spring baths. Springs were spectacular. Room with deck was enjoyable.

Naruto Grand Hotel Kaigetsu features a sauna and spa facilities, as well as air-conditioned accommodation in Naruto. This 3-star ryokan offers a lift and free shuttle service. The staffs were helpful. The dinner and breakfast were great. The room were clean.

Featuring 3-star accommodation, Bizan Kaigetsu is located in Tokushima, 6.1 km from Tokushima Station and 1.9 km from Awa-Odori Community Hall. A sauna is available for guests. Stand alone hotel on top of a hill overlooking Tokushima city. No traffic, it is a kind of nature reserve. I had a huge tatami room with panoramic windows. Very nice public bath. The room did have a private bathroom but no shower - Ryokan style.
