The room was fairly small, with no cupboard space (there's a space to hang your clothes) but as we were just staying for the one night this didn't really matter. The room had a lovely sea view and was really comfortable. The bed was amazing, we had a really good night's sleep. Geoff is a fantastic host: our breakfast was lovely and we chatted with him about the hotel and the area.

There was somewhere to sit but it was not a place that was suitable for drying my hair and putting on make-up as the only mirror was not nearby. Anyway, we managed okay. Staff were very accommodating. We hadn't eaten that afternoon but we were told we could have a take-away in the bar. Therefore, a few doors down from the hotel we got a really lovely Chinese Take-Away.

The room was a good size. I saw that the rating was really high, and decided to go for it in choosing this hotel and it was well worth it. Unfortunately we didn’t manage to get breakfast (too much alcohol the night before 😂) but as we were leaving we were offered a sandwich and a cup of tea which we both thought was a lovely gesture. We would both definitely recommend The Bell to anyone looking for a place to stay in peterlee.
