Place is great. We had a room facing a big patio with a lush bougainvillea. The room was small but with all the essentials. Staff was also great and cordial.

We visited a week after Día de los Muertos and the cemetery was fantastic, with the circular pyramids visible in the background. Shops where you can discover the local crafts, we plan to go back and explore the Purépecha ruins and more. We ended up eating carnitas and birria in the nearby town of Quiroga where there is a beautiful church. If you don’t have time to travel to all of the little towns circling Lake Patzcuaro you can find many of the various woven things, ceramics and wooden toys in these two towns. It’s on an easily driven alternate route from Patzcuaro to San Miguel de Allende, or Morelia.
