In walking distance to shops, restaurants and the markets and located right in the historic center The woman at check in (I don't remember her name) was so lovely and helpful! The hotel itself is very nice. Our room was so comfortable with a comfortable bed and very nice shower. Breakfast was very nice. Great coffee, fruit, toast and natural juice we friendly staff. It was so nice that we decided to stay an extra night!

Pablo was on top of everything. The front counter was always helpful regardless of person. The continental breakfast was exquisite and not what you would expect. Quite an experience. Find a casa de cambio immediately ... Go to: the museum to east of the cathedral we authentic artwork and souvenirs are made and don't haggle with them!...these people make everything themselves.... The stuff off the streets or flea market, haggle with them it's not authentic... Go eat at San Miguelito it's a nice sit down restaurant one of Mexicos top chef Cynthia Marquez is highly respected Go to have Mexican hot chocolate at Tricos Take comfy walking shoes lots to see And do... If your brave (defensive driving)rent a car to go see the thermal waters and monarchs Gets cold at night and very warm in the day. Morelia is a very friendly and safe town and everyone we crossed enjoyed talking and serving us... Super friendly and humble people... All the stuff on tv about Michoacan is in the rural outskirts and in the towns people just want to work and make living.... The cost from central Morelia (a block south from palacio de la justicia) to the airport was 350 pesos...

Morelia-Colonial Mexico
We were visiting friends in Morelia and made day trips to Leon and the Maripsoa Monarch Reserve. (The Monarch reserve is a must see if you are given the opportunity. We visited in February when the butterflies were reproducing and preparing to leave for the Eastern United States. 10's of thousands of monarch butterflies if not more.) The old section of town is beautiful. When we were visiting the Pope was coming to town and you could feel the excitement and energy. We had breakfast outside across from the Cathedral. The Chilaquiles were excellent. The temperatures can be cool at night and pleasant during the day. 42 F-86 F throughout the year. For coffee connoisseur's you might be at a bit of a loss to find a cup that is pleasing. Instant coffee is available and so are cappuccino machines at the local OXXO (mini mart) that run on the sweet side. If you drink black tea bring your own. I could not find it in the places we visited and had to drink coffee again after 11 years to get my caffeine fix. I did bring my own tea for half the trip thinking I could buy some later. Enjoyable places that we visited were the Dulce de Mercado (Candy Market) Great prices on T-shirts. Instituto del Artesano Michoacano, Handmade products from the State of Michoacan. Avocado Ice Cream at the local ice cream shop, sounds odd but is quite good. I would make Morelia a hub for taking trips to the surrounding area. We will return for years to come.

Morelia and its surroundings are just amaizing
The capital Morelia is very nice, but traveling to the towns was the best part of the trip, specially Patzcuaro and Santa Clara del Cobre. People is very friendly and you can walk on the streets with no issues. Meals are very cheap and gastronomy is very extensive. I recommend to visit Michoacan and its towns

Uruapan is a beautiful city and when the centro square...
Uruapan is a beautiful city and when the centro square renovation is completed, it will be lovely. We enjoyed the Museo for a history of Michoacan and artifacts from the various regions and language explanations. The Nacional Park is fabulous and so close. Unfortunately the Fabrica was closed for a private party on Saturday when we tried to visit and always closed on Sunday so we missed seeing it. The buildings exterior and gardens are lovely though. We took one day to bus to the stone church at the volcano Paricutin and another day in search of a guitar in Paracho and both days were wonderful excursions. We found a lovely coffee shop in town and visited it each day to enjoy delicious coffee and cakes while watching life there. We will return some day and recommend it highly.

Love it in Uruapan for Domingo de Ramos and the annual market of artesanias. Love the semi tropical climate and beautiful vegetation...yummy avocadoes and macadamia nuts Love the Parque Nacional Found some wonderful restaurants...Cocina M, Maison de Cupatitzio and El Rincon de Aguililla Will come here again and again. Michoacan is one of my favorite regions of Mexico.

The location is in the middle of Uruapan, a block from the main square. Uruapan is a very Mexican working town, without a lot of tourists. It is where avocados from the surrounding agricultural areas are processed and shipped out. There is a wonderful mercado a 15-minute walk away. The hotel is quiet and has a lovely inner courtyard. There is also a little restaurant inside the hotel run by a woman who was raised in rural Michoacán, who serves excellent traditional food. There is parking a block away.

We stayed there one night in mid-October. The views, architecture, décor, and landscaping are uniquely beautiful. The hillside location is private and tranquil with exceptionally beautiful views from the guestroom, dining room, bar, and balconies. The photos on the booking.com website are accurate. We enjoyed our 30-minute walk up the hill to see sunset from the Estribo Grande, where there's another exceptional view. (The road is cobblestone so wear sensible shoes. Take a flashlight if it's after sunset.) Abundant trees and wild-flowers filled the fields on both sides of the road. The guestroom was extremely clean; the floor-to-ceiling window-wall was spotless. The bedside reading lights are excellent. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. Although there was no heat, it was a very comfortable mid-October sleeping temperature and the bed had appropriate layers of blankets. The bar has a good selection of wine by the bottle, and adequate wine by the glass. While the bar is extremely comfortable and nicely decorated, we decided to be served out on the balcony where we could enjoy the view of Lake Patzcuaro and surrounding fields and mountains. We had dinner on out room's balcony and breakfast on the dining room balcony. We had guacamole as the dinner starter. It was delicious, perfectly seasoned with a lumpy fresh avocado texture. The very generous portion of steamed mixed vegetables that came with the salmon was perfectly cooked with good flavor and texture. Breakfast was delicious with excellent hot and strong coffee. (I regret that I forgot to ask its brand and origin.) The chocolate lava cake that we had after breakfast was excellent: moist, warm and flavorful

Beautiful location out of the city but close to freeway access to leave. Everything was well taken care of on landscaping and the property is huge! The restaurant was on the second floor large and had lots of windows so you could a great view of everything from there. The room had a back door to the pool area with table and chairs so you could sit outside and enjoy the pool right from outside your door.
