The owner was the absolute best!! She really cares for her guests and treats them like family. She was so concerned one of her recommendations didn't work out for me, so she tried extra hard to make my time in Matsue memorable. She knows all the local knowledge and can tell you all about many things. The cats are very cute and she keeps the house very clean even with all the cats!

Guest house Yonemuraya was a pleasant surprise. It was so much better than staying at a hotel, as it felt like a more authentic Japanese experience. I travelled to Matsue for a conference at Kunibike Messe convention centre and this was only a short walk away. Emi-San was an excellent host, helping me with finding place for dinner, sightseeing and shopping ideas when I had time off work. There was a lively restaurant area nearby, and the train station, castle etc were within walking distance.

The location was great! Easy to find even after having a night out. The staff informed me of all the rules. They also had a printed copy that was in both Japanese and English, which was great because I don't understand much Japanese yet.

Amazing. There was free shuttle to the nearest JR station. We didn't book the shuttle beforehand but we were able to take it anyway. The breakfast was amazing and the location is very good. Very close to the bus stop which we had to take because JR operations were suspended due to heavy rain. Value was so good.

The host was extremely polite and helpful. I wouldn't be able to continue my bike touring journey without his help - for which I'm still deeply thankful. I hope you've got your rope back through the mail! Great couple of food options nearby and the neighbourhood is quiet. There is a garage with tools which was a wonderful addition for a biker.
